Enrich yourself. Be open to India, even if you have no business plans there (yet). Experience, learn and enjoy. India is a continent full of contrasts with a unique, rich and colourful culture. With deeply rooted customs from different religions. India has large differences between highly educated and illiterate, between rich and poor and between the 28 different languages and many religions.
India is a strongly growing economic world power with an energetic and young population, an English-speaking middle class and highly educated people. With millions of SMEs, but also with world players in the steel, software and pharmaceutical industries. And don't forget the consumer products that find their way to hundreds of millions of customers in a rapidly growing middle class larger than that of Europe.
Highlights of the trip
You visit the world cities of Mumbai, Pune and New Delhi and experience the hustle and bustle, colours and positive energy of India.
You will enter into more than interesting companies from different sectors. This will give you an idea of the enormous opportunities but also the challenges that are typical of the Indian culture.
Fascinating speakers will take you into the wonderful world of doing business in India with relevant themes such as: the bureaucracy, the hidden corruption, the role of the family and of course where the opportunities lie.
We visit Indian and Dutch companies. You will hear and see what challenges and opportunities there are and how to tackle them.
A preview of the companies we will visit: Vanderlande Logistics, Eurofruits, TomTom, KF Bioplants, TATA consultancy services (world leader in software), Serum Institute (largest vaccine producer in the world), Tiny Miracles and Fokker.
You will be supported throughout the trip by an international business development expert (Paul van Hek) and an experienced senior business consultant from India (Bhupinder Bansal). Bhupinder has many years of experience in assisting Dutch companies in India. Foreign Affairs and the embassy will help us with contacts and speakers.
Everything is arranged for your convenience and luxury in bus, plane and train. Always accompanied by an Indian guide. You stay in 5-star hotels where you will regularly have a 'wow' feeling.
You'll pick up some great tourist highlights like the colourful Hindu temples. In Mumbai, we will visit India Gate and the most beautiful railway station in the world, Victoria Station. We'll probably also go into the slums to experience the vibrant entrepreneurship there. In Delhi, you will literally get a taste of 'old Delhi'. And if you want to, you can take in one of the seven wonders of the world, the Taj Mahal in Agra.
